Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life

Jeff Cardoni has been hired to score the upcoming family comedy Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life. The film is directed by Steve Carr (Paul Blart: Mall CopDaddy Day CareDr. Dolittle 2) and stars Griffin Gluck, Lauren Graham, Rob Riggle, Thomas Barbusca, Andy Daly, Jacob Hopkins and Adam Pally. The movie is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same title by James Patterson (ZooKiss the Girls) and chronicles the trials and triumphs of Rafe Khatchadorian as he uses his wits to battle bullies, hormones and the tyrannical, test-obsessed Principal Dwight. Chris Bowman & Hubbel Palmer (Masterminds) and Kara Holden have written the screenplay. Leopoldo Gout (Alex Cross) and Bill Robinson (Zoo) are producing the project. Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life) is set to be released on October 7, 2016 by CBS Films/Lionsgate. Silicon Valley Finale

Silicon Valley Finale

Thanks for tuning in to the Season 3 finale of "Silicon Valley".  I feel lucky to be but a small part of this incredible assembly of talent.   Can't wait for Season 4.   Some music tracks from the finale are up on the music page.   And hopefully we'll have some type of soundtrack release for next season, featuring all of the incredible songs that Mike (as well as Rudy and Jason at Hit The Ground Running) and some score cues as well.  Stay tuned.....

"Training Day" on CBS

Excited to be scoring this new series for CBS.  Based on the film starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke and directed by Antoine Fuqua, this show takes place 10 years later.  It stars Bill Paxton as a corrupt cop.  Written by Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and directed by Danny Cannon (Gotham), it will premiere mid-season on CBS.

Update

-  Pilot season is over!   I was lucky enough to  score (4) of them and live to talk about it: "Training Day" for CBS, "Speechless" for ABC, "Charity Case" and "HR" for Fox.   Looks like a few will go a few won't such is life in this nutty biz....

- "Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates" will be released by Fox on 7/8/16.   Music samples are up on the site.  Soundtrack will be out on Lakeshore records, stay tuned for detals.

- The Grinder Rests.   Dammit, sad to say but this incredible show got the axe yesterday.   It was literally one of the most creatviely rewarding projects I've ever worked on.  So thank you Rob Lowe, Fred Savage, Jarrrad Paul, Andy Mogel, Jake Kasdan, Manish Raval for letting me be a part of it.

Really proud to have worked on this one, from Oscar nominated writer/director Bob Nelson (Nebraska), starring Clive Owen, Maria Bello, Patton Oswalt, Matthew Modine, Robert Forester, and the incredible Jaeden Lieberher (St. Vincent). 

The reviews have been stellar accross the board, so check out this realy heartfelt film if you get a chance.  This one gives a nice shout out to the music as well...

The latest happenings...

- "The Grinder".   Jeff will be scoring this new comedy for Fox, starring Rob Lowe and Fred Savage.   It's produced by Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Freaks and Geeks), Jarrad Paul (Yes Man), Andrew Mogel (Alan Gregory), and Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors).   Series premieres Tuesday 9/29 on Fox.

- "30 for 30: Duke Lacrosse" - Jeff is scoring this riveting feature documentary about the scandal that rocked Duke university.   Directed by award winning Marina Zenovich (Roman Polanski:Wanted and Desired) and edited by pal Greg Finton (He Named Me Malala).

- "The Better Half" was nominated for Best Feature and Best Score at the Action On Film International Film Festival.   Film screens 9/19/2015.

- "Being Dennis" - this short directed by the amazing Trish Sie (Step Up: All In) has been tearing it up on the festival circuit, winning several best of awards.  

- "The League".  The final season  premieres Wednesday 9/9/15 on FXX.

- And finally, thanks to Killer Tracks for the shout out.  Jeff's album "The Interview" has 9 of the Top 50 most downloaded tracks this month out of a zillion. Shout out to Ryan Perez Daple for hooking it up and getting us a great orchestra recording in Budapest.   Details here.

Pulp Shakespeare

Jeff is composing the music for this award winning stage play, based upon Quentin Tarantino's masterwork "Pulp Fiction" set in midieval times.   The play is directed by Ovation award winning Amanda McRaven and opens Jan 15th at Theater Asylum in Hollywood.
